Bowery Drama: The General Closed By Department of Health

It seems that a lot of people have it out for Bowery hotspot The General. Earlier this week it was reported that basement bar Bow had to close after noise and permit complaints from the neighbors (right - because the first thing that comes to mind when we think of the Bowery is peace and quiet). Last night, while restaurant hopping on the stretch and found this cavernous joint empty - whaaaaa??? There was a DOH sticker on the front door, meaning the health department came by and shut 'er down. Bowery Boogie also noticed, and sources tell them it was due to a permitting issue. It's likely that they'll be up and running again soon.
