Sadly our LA trip had to come to an end, but not without a major meal to finish. For our last dinner in Tinseltown, we hit up WeHo hot spotLaurel Hardware. While from what we sampled there was hardly a miss on the wide-ranging menu, our favorite had to be the sea scallops with acorn squash, crispy pancetta and argan oil. The scallops were expertly seared, with the squash purée complementing the sweetness of the seafood, and the pancetta providing some contrasting texture and salt. At $18 for two, the dish ain't cheap (even by NYC standards), but once you cut into one of the tender, plump mollusks, you won't care about the price (323-656-6070).
