Best Thing We Ate Last Night: Pumpkin at Willow Road

While we couldn't resist the buttermilk fried chicken with jerk spices and orange blossom honey at Chelsea's recent arrival Willow Road, given the weather we found the most satisfying dish of the evening to be the stuffed pumpkin. While it may not be much to look at it in the photograph above, after you take a bite, you'll overlook the aesthetics (it's more attractive in person, we swear). The seasonally appropriate vegetarian dish strikes a pleasant balance between sweet and savory, with a combination of mushroom, swiss chard and pecans as the filling, and a hon shimeji velouté on top. It's flavorful, rich and warming - perfect qualities for a meal during a snowy night ($18; 646-484-6566).
