Aged Riojas and Acorn-Fed Pork at Tinto Wine Dinner Thursday

The intimate dining room at Jose Garces’ Tinto in Rittenhouse will make for a perfect escape as storms hit the city at the end of the week (our neighbors will all get snow, but we’ll have to settle for rain). There are still a few spots left for the special wine pairing dinner on Thursday, March 7, which will introduce guests to two aged Riojas matched with Basque dishes.

The first course of white asparagus, stinging nettles and morel mushrooms basically sings spring, and the meal continues with acorn-fed Iberico pork shoulder and more. Seats run $100 per person, including the food and drink, and reservations are required. If you can’t make it out this week, stay tuned for an April 4 dinner featuring French and Spanish ciders, or the sherry pairing meal on May 2 (215-665-9150).
