We're nearly a third of the way into 2013, and most cities are already brimming with dozens of exciting new restaurant and bar openings. Accordingly, this week we've rounded up the hottest spots in each of our eight blog markets. Check out the top three hot openings from a town near you in the slide show below, and let us know about your favorite new restaurant this year in the comments.
Thank you for this review of restaurants in these markets. As a frequent train traveler, I would like to point out that all of these cities are accessible by Amtrak. So, if you are traveling to one of these cities, check out these reviews and visit one of the restaurants.

Do you work for Amtrak or something?

DeleteI live in NYC and I've eaten in all of these cities, but I was really surprised by your omission of Portland, OR on this list. I visited last fall mostly to sample the local food scene, and I found the general quality incredibly high. Portland is a destination that belongs on the foodie traveler's list!
ReplyDeleteIs there something wrong with New Orleans. There's some of the best food in the US in New Orleans, but it never exists on Zagat!! And, I'm not just talking about this article!! Is New orleans on a different planet?
ReplyDeleteheading to New Orleans in the next 2 weeks and you're right - there's hardly any mention of "where to eat" in this city.
DeleteAny suggestions?
Just returned from New Orleans and enjoyed another memorable meal at Bayona's. We have enjoyed dining there over the years. . . . .Susan Spicer never disappoints. Having said that, make reservations well in advance and enjoy!
DeleteCheck out New Orleans Menu, by Tom Fitzmorris. He has been doing restaurant reviews for years in the city and has a local radio show where he discusses restaurants and interviews chefs. We are frequent visitors to New Orleans and have never been disappointed by his recommendations.

ReplyDeleteFrom the very beginning, this article makes no sense.
ReplyDelete"We're nearly a third of the way into 2013, ...." Or, you know, barely a fifth of the way into the year.

ReplyDeleteHEY ZAGAT, PANETONE COLOR GUIDE? REALLY?
HIRE A CHECKER/EDITOR
PANETONE IS AN ITALIAN CAKE EATEN AT CHRISTMAS. THE COLOR GUIDE IS PANTONE.
Well if you live in Philly, NY, LA, SF, Boston or Austin - here ya go. If i wanted an article talking about the most talked about food markets, I would go to Yahoo. Ill echo the previous sentiment about Portland - arguably the most innovative food city.
ReplyDeleteCome to Fort Worth, Texas. Try Eddie V's; The Riata; The Chop House; Cattlemen's and for a real Fort Worth experience try Fred's. There are so many really great places, with such a variety from Oriental, Pirahna's and Blue Sushi to French to German to Steaks; Mexican and good ol' texas BBQ. Ya'll come on down and check us out.
ReplyDeleteGood Chicago restaurants are not hard to come by, but a good Chicago buffet, that serves gourmet food like we do at the Red Apple Buffet, is a rare find for sure.
