What’s In the Cow at The Mildred This Weekend?

Partners Michael Santoro and Michael Dorris found a new piece of Staub dinnerware — a cast-iron serving pot in the shape of a cow. Nicknamed “Mildred,” she’s used each Sunday for the prix fixe dinner at The Mildred, which runs $40 per person and includes three hearty courses.

This weekend she’ll also be carrying a duck-kielbasa and sweetbreads dish, a special on offer for Friday and Saturday night that runs $35 and is meant for two (see photo below). “It's pretty cool to serve and cook food in it,” Santoro says. “I’ve never seen anything like it elsewhere.” She is awfully cute, isn’t she?
