Now that Umami Burger has spread its sixth-taste flavor far and wide - and keeps growing - the original location on La Brea is set to shutter after dinner service this Saturday (Feb. 9). Reps tell
Eater, "Umami Burger's business has evolved and our space needs have evolved. Our ideal space is now 2,000 square feet with 75 seats, with the ability to serve alcohol." So places like
Pasadena,
the Grove and
Toluca Lake among others fit the bill, unless you're talking
U-Mini. The brand will be crawling up the coast to open a spot in Palo Alto later this year, and it goes cross country to
open in New York this spring.
