Word comes from our own
L.A. Zagat blog (by way of
Eater LA) that despite national expansion,
Umami Burger plans to shutter the chain’s original La Brea location after dinner service this Saturday. On a brighter note, the flava-packed burger chain plans to open a branch in
New York City later this spring, and more importantly for us NorCal folks, a 50-seat branch in Palo Alto (452 University Ave.) in addition to a 100-seat outpost in Oakland (2100 Franklin St.), both slated for mid-year. Until then, Bay Area burger meisters will have to get their fix at the one and only
Cow Hollow outpost (2184 Union St).
