The Peninsula Closes Restaurant Five, Will Open New Concept in Fall

Midtown's Peninsula Hotel is perhaps best known for it's rooftop lounge Salon de Ning, but the property did have another restaurant dubbed Fives (with an adjoining lounge called Bar at Fives) on the premises. We just heard that those spots have closed down - the hotel is going to renovate them and they'll reopen later this fall with a new name and concept. No details on that yet - while the space is being worked on, the property's Gotham Lounge will take over food service duties.
