In the past few years, the Philadelphia coffee roasting scene has exploded. Pioneers from the end of the 20th century have been joined by a vanguard of early adopters and a wave of new artisans, all dedicated to sourcing fairly and roasting with care. There are a number of excellent roasters in the near suburbs as well worth mentioning (especially considering that one or two on this list are outside Philly themselves). Pretty sure all are available for online ordering.
