The Best Thing We Ate Last Night: Special Ramen at Ippudo

If you can bypass the almost constant 90-minute wait to dine at legendary ramen joint, Ippudo, you're in for the best bowl of noodles of your life. Aside from the superlative pork buns and other killer Japanese fare, the main event here is duh, the ramen. Our favorite variety is the "special" ramen with charred black miso, chicken broth, mushrooms, greens and cilantro. The charred black miso gives this soup an incomparable depth of flavor and is one of the most transcendent bowls of ramen we've ever tasted. Insider tip: If you're going for dinner, show up before 6PM and put your name in to avoid waiting more than half an hour.
