Strangelove’s on Track for Early Spring Opening

Strangelove’s is the newest venture from the team behind Local 44, Memphis Taproom and Resurrection Ale House, and we just caught up with partner Leigh Maida for a quick progress update. Renovations to the former Butcher and the Brewer space (which was The Boilermaker for a couple of months and Doc Watson's for many years before that) are moving forward on schedule, so if all goes according to plan, the place will be ready by mid-March, as has been reported.

However, there is the matter of the liquor license transfer, which, despite even seasoned restaurateurs’ best efforts, cannot be fast tracked like construction. So, Maida tells us, an actual launch date of “the first week or so of April” is more likely.

Like the partners’ other spots, beer will be big at Strangelove’s, and each bar (upstairs and downstairs) will have 18 taps and two beer engines. A grand opening bash is planned, stay tuned for details as we hear them.
