Stella 34 Trattoria Brings Pizza to Macy's, With Assist From Jonathan Benno

Next week, a new restaurant inside of Macy's will fire up three wood-burning ovens and whip out a 100-long list of Italian wines. Stella 34 is from the Patina Group, and they've enlisted Jonathan Benno of their high-end eatery Lincoln to oversee the menu at their new spot, this Neapolitan trattoria on the sixth-floor of the famous building in Herald Square. Benno worked with executive chef Jarrett Appell to come up with the pizzas, pastas and other dishes that will be served - the fare will be cooked in the aforementioned ovens, which are named after Italy's three active volcanoes: Mount Etna, Vesuvius and Stromboli.

Take a gander at the menu here - there will be views of the Empire State building through bay windows, and and express elevator on 35th and Broadway will take guests right to the eatery. It opens next week, day TBA, get more info here (212-967-9251).
