Snow Coming? We Got Martinis and Chowder Heading Your Way

Ok, you know Bostonians haven’t seen snow all winter when the impending storm kicks off a flurry of press releases about places to go and things to drink. Here are a few options after you’re done shoveling.
The Capiz Lounge in the Renaissance Boston Waterfront hotel in the Seaport has already concocted a "snowflake" martini made with Stoli Vanilla, Malibu rum, pineapple juice and a splash of blue Curacao, all dusted with coconut flakes ($10). Get a plate of housemade snowballs (coconut macaroons, $3) to go with. Good luck finding a spot by the fire (617-338-4111).

Just in time for the snow is The Barking Crab chowder special for National Chowder Day (Feburary 25, though it's available for the whole month). Get warm with a tasting of three signature chowders - the house clam chowder, a lobster bisque and crab-and-corn chowder. Kinds of chowder are subject to change in the coming weeks. Oh, and it's another spot where you can try to snag a seat by the fireplace ($9; 617-426-2722).
