Restaurant Week Odyssey: Eating 30 Courses in 5 Days

New York's annual Winter Restaurant Week comes to a close today, and no doubt thousands of courses were served to diners enjoying the $25 lunches and $38 dinners across the participating venues. Thirty of those dishes were dutifully ordered and consumed by yours truly. This year, we vowed to delve into the debates surrounding the bi-annual promotion by restricting ourselves to fixed-price Restaurant Week menus for an entire week.

Would a harried server shank us because we didn't tip on the pre-promotion total? Are any of these deals actually any good, or are they ripoffs meant to serve salmon filets and chicken breasts to unsuspecting tourist rubes? Would we, in fact, turn into a piece of brick chicken after consuming so much poultry? Click through the slideshow to find out.

  1. I've long said Morimoto is a Restaurant Week disappointment! Menu is limited and they kill you with the upsells!
