Remember the news that chef Jeremy Fox recently landed at Rustic Canyon in Santa Monica? This is the kind of thing he's whipping up: Cardoon fry bread with ricotta, lardo and bottarga. Knowing Fox, who came to LA after winning awards for his haute vegetarian cuisine at SF's Ubuntu, it tastes as good as it looks. He's slowly adding his own dishes to the menu while retaining some of the restaurant's standards; change can't happen overnight, you know.
