Philadelphia Dining Deals & Events, February 11-17

Score free dessert with Sunday dinner at Square 1682
Monday
Skip the salad tonight and start the week with a mini splurge at Lansdale’s Round Guys Brewing Co. For just $10, you get five five-ounce beer pours and five mini desserts, designed to pair with each other. Suds and sweets are the ultimate antidote to the Monday blues (215-368-2640).

Tuesday
The end of a 12-day whiskey festival at West Philly’s best hidden bar, Fiume, ends with a bang for Mardi Gras. An all-New-Orleans-themed playlist will jazz up the mood, and over 100 types of rye, bourbon and other brown spirits will bring the fun.

Wednesday
Meritage in Rittenhouse is bringing the comfort each Wednesday in February with a $25 prix fixe menu based around “Bubby’s favorites.” Matzoh ball soup, braised brisket, potato-horseradish croquettes, Earl Grey apple cake and warm apple cider will wrap you in warmth on a winter eve better than a sweater knit by grandma (215-985-1922).

Thursday
If you’re waiting for payday but still want to go out on the town, hit up Bridget Foy’s. The South Street diner-esque restaurant offers a $10 burger and beer deal every Thursday. NB: it’s available at the bar only (215-922-1813).

Friday
Join young professionals at the Barnes Foundation on the Ben Franklin Parkway for a live music event with catered a catered cocktail reception. Your $25 ticket to the 6:30-10 PM event (available here) includes access to the art collection, plus admittance to an after party at the Four Seasons (215-278-7200).

Saturday
Last month we mentioned New Jersey’s Flying Fish brewery is raising money for Superstorm Sandy relief by making a limited release beer named F.U. Sandy. The first area tapping we’ve heard of will take place Saturday at Hawthornes in Bella Vista. The brew will begin to flow at 9 AM, so stop in to give your brunch a charity angle (215-627-3012).

Sunday
As she begins to put her own mark on Square 1682, chef de cuisine Caitlin Mateo has expanded dinner service on Sunday and Monday evenings (it used to be a limited menu only). Plus, every table gets a half-off bottles wine or a complimentary dessert. Reason enough to make a night of it (215-563-5008).
