Peanut Corp Officials Indicted in 2009 Peanut Butter Salmonella Outbreak

Remember that big peanut butter salmonella outbreak back in 2009? (Aka the time you threw up eating a Keebler elf cookie.) Well, A federal grand jury has indicted former officials of Peanut Corp of America in connection with that outbreak that came from tainted peanut products. The charges include fraud, conspiracy and the introduction of adulterated and misbranded food into interstate commerce. Should these peanut producers be held responsible for the outbreak or should it be the individual companies that should be punished for lack of quality control? Tell us what you think in the comments. [Reuters]
