Park Tavern Team to Bring a Bit of London to SoMa with Cavalier

There’s absolutely nothing cavalier about opening a new restaurant in San Francisco, but that’s not stopping the dynamic duo behind Marlowe and Park Tavern from adding another one to their growing empire. Word comes from the Inside Scoop that owner Anna Weinberg and chef Jennifer Puccio plan to open an all-day, London-inspired brasserie dubbed Cavalier, later this summer in the somewhat cursed SoMa space (55 5th St.) that once housed restaurants from L.A. celebrity chef Michel Richard as well as a stream of others. Cavalier, along an adjacent lobby bar called S&R Lounge, will be flagship eatery for the new Hotel Zetta, which recently took over the former Hotel Milano. Cavalier will have its own entrance on Jessie Street, and one cool detail of note is that in addition to the 80-seat dining room, they'll be a semi-private bar and lounge dubbed Marianne’s (in honor of Marianne Faithful).
