Speaking of wine bars, West Hollywood's newest, V, debuts just around happy hour tonight. The tasting room and retail shop fits nicely into a building that was once home to WeHo's first library (it was also an acting studio for Charlie Chaplin), and according to UrbanDaddy, even uses a library-like card system to keep track of your favorite wines. There's a small bar and tables strewn about the room, a giant olive tree, and a couple low sofas for lounging. There's even free WiFi, so you can treat it as a workspace during the day. You know, one with small-production wines from Napa, Sonoma, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties personally selected by co-owner Michael Consbruck, a landscape architecht-turned-sommelier. For sustenance, there's a small menu with cheeses, nuts, olives, charcuterie and ground beef-stuffed potato balls (!). V opens tonight at 5 PM, and will be open daily from 10 AM to 9 PM (10 PM on weekends).
