It’s official. Ming Tsai’s Asian gastro pub, Blue Dragon, is open in the Seaport District.
The casual eatery showcases the small-plates and family-style platters of Tsai’s famous east-meets-west cuisine for not a lot of dough (thank you very much). The laidback vibe is set up feng shui style (He used the same feng shui master, Natalia Kaylin, for Blue Ginger) with an open kitchen and 80 seats that’s a combo of a bar, window seats, high tops, banquets and antique Asian benches.
The menu features dumplings, Indonesian curried lamb shepherds pie, panko-crusted fish 'n' chips with a black vinegar tartar sauce - very approachable food - and his verision of the banh mi Vietnamese sandwich for lunch. Prices run from $4 to $35, with most in the $8 to $12 range.
And there’s just the one dessert, The Cookie - warm chocolate chip cookie served in a skillet with Tahitian vanilla bean ice cream. Do we have your attention yet?
Blue Dragon is open Monday through Saturday 11:30 AM-1 AM, with the kitchen closing at midnight, nightly.
