Michael Schlow to Open Mexican Resto, Barrio Cantina, This Week

Happy's will be replaced with Barrio Cantina this week.

Michael Schlow is about to open his new Mexican concept, Barrio Cantina, in the space formerly occupied by Happy’s Bar & Kitchen at 1363 Boylston St. in the Fenway, according to a Grub Street Boston report.

Upwards of 70 tequilas will be poured and the menu will feature items including tacos and quesadillas.
The opening will add to the Mexican mix of the neighborhood, which already has Ken Oringer’s La Verdad and El Pelon Taqueria.

Schlow, who also operates Radius, Via Matta, Alta Strada and Tico, shuttered Happy’s last month.
