|Lunch at Drago Centro|
For those Downtowners who need to eat well on the fly, or pretend that Thursday is already the weekend, Drago Centro has a new "business lunch" deal, a three-course menu for $25. Dishes include butternut squash cappuccino with olive oil foam, or caesar salad; pacific snapper with fingerling potatoes and English pea puree, or rabbit fettucini with shaved carrots; and lemon panna cotta, or chocolate cake with chestnut mousse for dessert. The deal is good Monday through Friday, 11:30 AM-2:30 PM (525 S Flower St.; 213-228-8998).
Heading to Staples or Nokia? Stop in the Mixing Room, the lobby lounge at the JW Marriott at LA Live, for a new cocktail program featuring its own barrel-aged spirits, including a white corn whiskey borbon, and drinks made with unique sips like The Art in the Age Spirits (made in LA), Tapatio Blanco Tequila, and Charbay R5 Hop-flavored whiskey from Racer 5's Bear Republic Brewery. For something more beer-y, for every Clippers, Lakers (and Clippers vs. Lakers, like tonight!) or Kings game, get a burger and draft brew combo for only $15 (900 W. Olympic Blvd.).
One more Valentine's Day idea - check out the new For the Record show at Rockwell Table & Stage, which features songs from Penny and Gary Marshall rom-coms like Pretty Woman, Big, Runaway Bride, Beaches, A League of Their Own and more. There's a special three-course dinner tonight, both for romancers and the show's debut, your pick from dishes like Dungeness crab cakes, chanterelle mushroom risotto, ahi tuna tartare, short ribs with braised escarole, pork rib chops with glazed yams, king salmon with vegetables and quinoa, and desserts. Tickets for dinner and a show range from $79 for partial view seating to $99 for premiere seats; tickets for the show only are $20-$40. Get them here (1714 N. Vermont Ave.; 323-661-6163).
