|A.O.C. during the day?! Don't mind if we do.|
Now that A.O.C. is operating smoothly in its new digs, lunch is in order. And after 10 years of not serving lunch in the original location, we say it's about time. Get a sneak peek of the new lunch menu - focaccia sandwiches stuffed with brussels sprouts, kale and burrata; flaked albacore salad; the "farmer's lunch" - today, Friday and Saturday this weekend, before it makes an official debut on Tuesday, Feb. 25 (8700 W. 3rd St.; 323-653-6359).
We can add Tsujita to the list of cult-favorite restaurants in LA. Lines are the norm, especially for the famed tsukemen ramen, which is made in limited supply daily. But this weekend might be your best shot to actually get some, and at night even. Today through Saturday, the restaurant is only serving tsukemen and tonkotsu ramen, no other menu items, from 11 AM-8 PM all three days. That means they have to be making extra tsukemen. Lines? Sure, but you've waited in worse (2057 Sawtelle Blvd.; 310-231-7373).
If you're not out partying while the stars party for the Academy Awards, the Varnish turns four today. To celebrate, there will be free Bols Genever punch and shots of Amaro Ramazzotti from 7-9 PM. After, stick around for the jazzy cheeky stylings of Naughty Niki & the All Nighters (118 E. 6th St.; 213-622-9999).
