Henry's Tacos Finds a New Home

Well, there you have it. The beloved Henry's Tacos, known for its hard-shell tacos and iconic sign, will take over the Studio Sub shop in Tujunga Village, which closes this weekend. According to the Studio City Patch, sub shop owner Stephanie Levy was ready to close due to competition from chains like Subway and Quizno's, but she says helping new Henry's Tacos owner Omar Vega makes it bittersweet. Vega, if you recall, was the 21-year Henry's employee who took over the business from Janis Hood, who closed her family's taco stand in January after a bitter battle with the landlord. All's well that ends well, though. Vega plans to move into the space and hopefully reopen in mid-March. The birds that rest in the entryway of the building? They're staying. [via Digest]
