Curry Up Now Open Permanently in the Misson

Between DosaUdupi Palace and the latest Indian entrant, Curry Up Now, we can't help thinking that Valencia Street is becoming the new Tandorloin. Proprietor Akash Kapoor chose the Mission for the first San Francisco brick-and-mortar location of his Indian street food favorite which earned a loyal food truck following by serving up affordable deconstructed samosas, tikka masala burritos and other creative bites (much of which is gluten free or vegan, see the complete menu here). Just opened, the spacious Valencia Street site has an industrial feel, complete with steel fixtures and a communal table made from reclaimed wood, plus a few cozy sidewalk tables available soon. Also in the works is a beer and wine license, so for now you can wash it all down with a fresh mango lassi or ginger-mint lemonade.


This isn't the last you'll hear of Curry Up Now; in addition to its four food trucks roaming the streets, the chain has brick-and-mortar outlets in Palo Alto and San Mateo, and SF Eater hints that a fourth is planned to open in a yet-to-be-revealed San Francisco location later this year.
