CoffeeWire: Bob's Espresso Bar in NoHo, G&B Opening on Larchmont

You never forget a character like Mike Damone. He'll sell you scalped tickets. He'll schtup his best-friend's girlfriend. He has no scruples. Thank god we left him in the 80s classic Fast Times at Ridgemont High. The actor who played him, however, is still around the Valley, now as an espresso bar owner. Grub Street tells us that Robert Romanus' Bob's Espresso Bar adds more lattes, pastries, live music and open mic nights to North Hollywood. No tickets, scalped or otherwise, needed (5251 Lankershim Blvd.; 818-980-5096).

G&B, the coffee bar that splits space with Sqirl in Los Feliz, has finalized plans to move into a former Badin-Robbins in Larchmont Village. Quite the boon for the neighborhood, as Kyle Glanville and Charles Babinski will serve their espresso and coffee, bottles of cold-brew and iced tea, plus, because there's room for ice cream equipment, affogatos and milkshakes. According to Eater, they also plan to do chocolate and coffee pairings and experiment with carbonated coffee drinks, which we assume will become coffee floats. And you know how much we love a coffee float. They'll continue to serve out of Sqirl, but look for the new shop to open in late spring or early summer (230 N. Larchmont Blvd.).
