By The Way, The Cutting Room is Back

Talk about quiet openings. A few weeks ago The Cutting Room returned to the Big Apple scene - you remember that the restaurant and performance shop closed a few years ago after an impressive 10 year run of live acts. It may have taken four years, but the relaunched venue is now up and running in Midtown East, a  short skip away from it's original home in Chelsea.

The cabaret is already running with a full schedule, guests can expect acts ranging from participatory quiz shows to Broadway stars like Alice Ripley (see the lineup here). When the stage is dark you can still drop by for some snacks - the venue just launched a new menu that features an affordable selection including "food truck style trays," which are themed plates meant to recreate the goodies that you can get from NYC's mobile eateries (options include sliders, meatballs and dumplings. You can take a gander at the full menu here, the classy joint is now open at 44 East 32nd St. (212-691-1900).
