Burgers Sales Down; Organic Meat and Meat-Free Dishes Sales Increase

It's hardly surprising to hear that sales of frozen hamburgers plummeted by 43% in the last month. Since the discovery of horsemeat in beef products everywhere from Tesco to Burger King and Ikea, shoppers are staying away from products that they feel could be misrepresented on the label.

The Guardian reported that sales at Riverford Organic Farms, a U.K. company which delivers fresh meat to customers homes, were up 41% on the same four week period last year. The supermarket chain Asda have also revealed that stores had seen a slight increase in sales of meat-free dishes in the wake of the scandal. It's not all bad news.
