Brunch Crunch: Where to Find a Red Velvet Fix

If breakfast is the most important meal of the day, than brunch is the most important meal of the week, so do it right. We've got too spots to fulfill the week's brunch quota. What's on the menu? Red velvet two ways: pancake and waffle-style.

Saturday
Whether you wake up on the north side or the south side, there is a red velvet waffle with your name on it. The restaurant conveniently called Waffles serves theirs with strawberry compote, whipped cream cheese and candied walnuts. Savor it on this wintry weekend with a flight of chocolate.

Sunday
Downtown, a restaurant with an equally obvious name will be flipping red velvet pancakes. Brunch tops theirs with sweet cream cheese glaze. This dish is best served with a side of fresh squeezed orange juice that may or may not have been spiked with some Prosecco or beer to the ultimate Sunday Funday sip – the “Beermosa.”
