Brine in Newburyport Slated to Open Next Week

Brine bar is ready to go
Brine, the crudo and chops resto scheduled to open today in Newburyport, has been delayed - just a bit. The 54-seater is now slated to open next Wednesday, February 13, instead.

Brine, with its crudo oyster bar featuring Carrera marble and chrome, takes over the former location of Ceia Kitchen + Bar at 25 State Street in the seaside town north of Boston. Ceia is now located at 38 State St.
Nancy Batista Caswell is the owner behind both concepts; she moved Ceia up the street to larger digs, since Ceia had outgrown its space.

“I’ve long wondered why a seacoast town like Newburyport didn’t have a top quality oyster bar,” said Batista Caswell in a statement. “So, I decided to make it happen in an upscale way.” The Brine menu also focuses on prime chops in a play of "sea and land."

Fans will have to wait just a bit longer to see what she means.
