60 cider makers arrive in Chicago this weekend for the Cider Summit. The event, which is also held in Seattle and Portland, will be held at the Navy Pier on Saturday. Sip from ciders from England, Scotland, France, Spain and New Zealand as well as local favorites such as Red Streak from Virtue. Tickets cost $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
This dinner is going to be epic. Trust us. Butcher and former chef Rob Levitt (The Butcher & Larder) and his wife Allie join forces with executive chef John Manion (La Sirena Clandestina) to cook an entire Bare Knuckle Farm pig. The dinner takes place on February 17 at 6 PM. Tickets cost $85 with an optional $30 wine pairing. After the meal, from 9 PM to midnight, an a la carte menu including boudin empanadas will be served. Divine, Dine & Wine
It is not news that we love restaurants in the West Loop. Enjoy all of them in one place during Divine, Dine & Wine on February 28 at Venue One. Hosted by Windy City Live’s Ryan Chiaverini and Val Warner, two-dozen restaurants are participating, including Vera, Sepia and City Winery. General admission tickets cost $125.
It’s on a boat! If that is not enough of a selling point, let us add chefs Kevin Hickey (Allium), Ryan McCaskey (Acadia), Giuseppe Tentori (GT Fish & Oyster) and others cooking chowder on said boat. The third annual Chowdah Fest will be held on March 1. Early bird tickets are on sale now for $40.
