Award Season: Get The VIP Treatment on Oscar Sunday

"Life of Pi" cocktail at Cru

Once again the Academy forgot about the little people. We're still waiting for our Oscar nom for our unforgettable, YouTube debut. But just because we got snubbed doesn't mean we can't eat and drink like the celebrities. Here is where to go for dinner and a show on Sunday.

The Florentine
The paparazzi will be on hand at this first annual Oscars viewing party. Roll up to the JW Marriott and get photographed on the red carpet before going upstairs to drink complimentary Oscars-themed cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres by executive chef Chris Macchia ($25; 312-660-8866).

Tavern on Rush
For a gourmet treat on Sunday, munch on rocky road popcorn balls. A sphere of popcorn is topped with chocolate marshmallow and nuts. It pairs well with an Oscars-inspired cocktail made with vodka, gin, cherry brandy, pineapple juice, orange soda and grenadine. Don’t expect to leave sober (312-664-9600).

Cru Car & Wine Bar
Show your support for the nominees by sipping on cocktails inspired by the films. The "Lincoln" (a traditional Old Pal cocktail) is made with Old Overholt Rye, Campari, Vermouth and orange bitters while Zero Dark Thirty is represented by a Blood and Sand with Famous Grouse Scotch, Cherry Heering, Punt e Mes and orange (312-337-4001).

Rockit Bar & Grill
Join Richard Roeper and Billy Dec for their 2nd Annual Oscar Viewing Party. Put your Oscar picks to the test against Ropeer and Dec for a chance to win the dinner at Sunda for two followed by a film premiere with Dec and Roeper. The soiree, which includes hors d’oeuvres and signature cocktails, benefits After School Matter ($50; 312-645-6000).

Slurping Turtle
This noodle bar is breaking out the big screen to show the Oscars. In addition to the show, there will be complimentary Togorashi popcorn and a glass of champagne between 5-11 PM (312-464-0466).

The swanky Randolph Street restaurant is rolling out the orange carpet for its Oscar party and social media bash. RSVP in advance at Oscars@nellcoterestaurant.com to receive two complimentary cocktail tickets valid from 5-7 PM. Stick around for prizes as well as Mo√ęt, Chandon, Hennessy and Belvedere specials (312-432-0500).

At Home
Throw an Oscar party at home with help from Garrett Popcorn. The "Silver Screen Soiree" package includes a two-gallon platinum tin filled with The Chicago Mix, a scoop and 12 empty, individual-sized Garrett bags for easy sharing, “Love is Messy” napkins and voting ballots. There is also a mini tin of The Chicago Mix as a treat for whoever has the best ballot, or for leftovers. The package costs $70.
