Albert Trummer Renames Miami Bar, Vows To Return to NYC

Cocktail maestro Albert Trummer is hard at work in Miami, getting ready to open a new lounge in the Wynwood neighborhood that was originally to be called Apotheke. While the mixologist is keeping his brand of "medicinal" cocktail making a the new haunt, he's decided to change the name to Trummer's Drogerie, which is German for "the chemist." It sounds like the name change had to do with a dispute with the owners of Apotheke NYC, which Trummer opened. He issued the following statement: “Apotheke is my brand and will continue to fight in court and in the Trademark Office over the rights to my trademark. However, I have decided not to let this dispute with my old business partners interfere in any way with my ability to bring my creations to South Florida and do not want to create any type of affiliation with the Apotheke Bar in New York."

Speaking of New York, Trummer also says that he plans to open an Drogerie in the Big Apple once the Miami venture is up and running, so stay tuned.
