The team behind top-rated Pork Gulch Italian
Acquerello have announced officially today that they will be opening a new eatery dubbed 1760 this spring. Located at 1760 Polk Street (in the former Parrilla space), the eatery will feature Italian-inspired California cuisine helmed by executive chef Adam Tortosa (most recently of LA's
Ink). To help shape the restaurant's menu, chef Tortosa and owner Giancarlo Paterlini spent a few weeks in Italy doing research in multiple regions.
1760’s wine list, curated by Gianpaolo, will be ever-changing, with around 250 European and domestic labels. Also expect a full bar program created by a "well-known" yet currently unnamed mixologist. Bay Area-based designer John Wheatman, who updated Acquerello’s interior in 2010, is heading up design 1760 will feature a communal table, bar seating and about 60 seats in the dining room.
