A Baker’s Dozen of James Beard Semifinalists at Vetri Great Chefs

The Vetri Great Chefs Event, the Vetri Foundation’s annual fund-raiser for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, is set for Tuesday, June 11. The gala event takes places at the Urban Outfitters headquarters at the Navy Yard, and as usual, Marc Vetri and crew have lined up a roster that reads like a who’s who of acclaimed chefs from around the country. How can we be sure there’s so much talent in the house? Of 43 participating chefs, a full 13 are on the just-released James Beard Awards semifinalist list.

That comes out to 30%, nearly a third, not even counting Amis’ own Brad Spence, picked this year as a candidate for Best Chef, Mid-Atlantic. Tickets are pricey - $350 each - and aren’t available quite yet, but when they do come out you can be assured of an evening stocked with pretty amazing food and drink.
