The Best Thing We Ate Last Night: Crab Toast at Maysville

The Char No. 4 folks quietly expanded to Manhattan back in November with Flatiron eatery Maysville - a spot that had flown under our radar the last two months until we finally got to check it out on Saturday night. If you're in the same boat, you need to run, not walk, to this Southern-inspired bourbon and small plates joint which is completely knocking it out of the park. The menu, helmed by Gramercy Tavern alum Kyle Knall is so well executed we had a hard time deciding on the actual "best thing" we consumed during this meal. While the stellar whiskey list is enough of a draw on its own, the food is some of the most flavorful and interesting we've had in recent memory. If we had to pick a favorite, we'd select the crab toast (pictured above) which features a lightly dressed crab salad with ginger aioli and radish atop perfectly charred bread. Maysville is located at 17 W. 26th Street.
