Super Bowl Specials and Takeout Tailgates

Bokx 109 will host a Mardi Gras-themed Super Bowl party this Sunday.

We have a few parties, special menus and takeout tailgate spots for you to enjoy during (and before!) Super Bowl Sunday on February 3.

BOKX 109 American Prime is combining the festivities of Mardi Gras with the fun of the Super Bowl. The party will showcase a special selection of Creole fare. Among the Big Easy-esque bites will be gumbo, crayfish corn dogs, pork belly, fried popcorn crawdad and “Swamp” burger sliders and more. All bites are $8 a pop (617-454-3399).

Hungry? Opt for Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse’s special tailgating menu - a four-course (four quarters) menu that offers the best of game-day dishes, including Philly cheesesteak spring rolls, gnocchi bolognese, an Amish free-range chicken, and tiramisu for dessert - now through Super Bowl Sunday in the Boston locale. What’s more, a portion of the proceeds from the special menu will go to the Taste of the NFL, which benefits The Greater Boston Food Bank (5-10 PM; $70 per person, tax and gratuity not included; 617-357-4810).

Upstairs on the Square always dares you to have fun. This year the American in Harvard Square will give you a free plate of "Hot Dates" when you wear your football helmet to the party. “Hot Dates” include a bowl of fire engine beef chili
 sour cream, cheddar and pepitas ($8); ultimate nachos
 refried beans, guacamole
 cheddar, diced tomatoes, black olives, tempura peppers ($8); corn-y dog with spicy mustard sauce and fries ($13). Specialty drinks include the
 Raven’s rum punch and the (K)Nob Hill bourbon Manhattan, $10 each (starts at noon; 617-864-1933).

Those looking to tailgate at home, check out the easy options at the Biltmore Bar & Grille and Local 149, each putting together combo meals that include faves like wings, pizza, ribs, meatballs and game-day finger foods. Those with large parties 10 ($50) or 20 ($100), you need to place your orders by Thursday, January 31 at 3 PM. For smaller orders or eat-in, the menu is available all day, Super Bowl Sunday.
