Sips and Suppers: You’re Invited to a Dream Dinner Party

What if…top-rated chefs were crafting multicourse feasts in posh private homes and charming people like you were invited for dinner? Well...you can live that fantasy on Sunday night, January 27, when some 60 toques including Erik Bruner-Yang (Toki Underground), Scott Drewno (Source), Spike Gjerde (Woodbury Kitchen), Carla Hall (The Chew), Mike Isabella (Graffiato) and Haidar Karoum (Proof) - led by Alice Waters (Chez Panisse) and Jose Andres (Minibar) - will be cooking up a storm in 30 kitchens around town. Guests will sit down at formally set tables to enjoy great conversation, food and wine. Proceeds from these suppers ($550) benefit DC Central Kitchen and Martha’s Table. Go here for tickets and details about the chef and host match-ups.

You needn't give up the dream if you’re not ready to spring for a spendy supper. On Saturday night, January 26, you can mingle with the region’s top food artisans and chefs, plus Andres and Waters, while enjoying cocktails, wine and tastings for $95. This benefit/cocktail party on steroids takes place at the Newseum. Go here for details and tickets.
