Charlie Palmer’s annual swill-and-swine bacchanal up in Healdsburg - dubbed Pigs & Pinot - doesn’t take place until March 22 and 23, but if you want to assure yourself a piece of the pig pie, take note: weekend packages go on sale today at 11 AM and tickets for individual events will be up for grabs tomorrow (for VISA signature members only) and Friday at 11 AM for the general public. There’s no longer a lottery to vie for a spot for the pig-themed Share Our Strength fundraiser; you just have to get online early to nab the tickets you want as they’ll likely sell out in a day.
Highlights of this year’s a la carte festivities includes Taste of Pigs & Pinot ($175 per person), an all-you-can-eat-and-drink pig-out, The Tournament of the Pig ($125) an Iron-Chef-style competition with two teams of guest chefs and the Ultimate Pinot Smackdown Wine Seminar. It’s worth noting if your willing to pony up for the hotel package, you’ll also get entry to the Swine-and-Dine dinner at Spoonbar featuring several Bay Area chefs and the Saturday evening five-course Pigs & Pinot Gala Dinner at Dry Creek Kitchen prepared by visiting chefs Elizabeth Falkner (Krescendo), Dean Fearing (Fearings Restaurant), Jose Garces (Garces Group) and Craig Stoll (Delfina). All weekend participants, including individual ticket holders, are welcome at the Pigs & Pinot Late Night post-gala after-dinner drinks and desserts soiree.
