Tonight, Global Kitchen is hosting a launch party to help raise funds for their culinary mission. The new organization offers cooking classes taught by immigrants who are small business owners or entrepreneurs. The event will be hosted at the Projective Space (72 Allen St.) at 7 PM and will feature food from Guyana, Senegal and Egypt along with drinks. Tickets are $45. Wednesday, January 23
New lounge The Flatiron Room wants to make you an expert in brown spirits with a new series of classes dubbed Whiskey School. Today,a three-class series on bourbon kicks off at 7 PM with a dive into the spirits history and tradition. Thursday, January 24
Stop by Midtown's Haven Rooftop, which has transformed itself into a ski chalet for the winter season, for some happy hour deals. The bar offers $5 beers and $7 glasses of wine through 7 PM - after that stay for "Snowed In Thursdays" a party with DJs and hot cocktails (132 West 47th Street).
Friday, January 25
Tear it up tonight at the revampped Marquee, which opened it's stylish new doors last week. The club is promoting its live acts and DJs like never before and tonight Sharam is in the house. Be sure to wear your Friday best, the club is looking mighty shiny and surely the bouncers will expect you to do the same.
Saturday, January 26
Stop by the West Village's Sotto 13 to enjoy a recently launched Italian-style brunch. An array of tapas, wood-fired pizzas and pastas are available, and can be enjoyed with brunch cocktails like a Bloody Mary with an Old Bay rim. Sunday, January 27
Or, if you want to actually make the pasta, stop by Chelsea's Giovanni Rana Pastificio & Cucina for the Italian eatery's first pasta making class, dubbed "Filled with Love: Ravioli 101" (Valentine's Day is right around the corner, after all). The demo will teach you how to mold the perfect ravioli shape, and you'll get to enjoy your creations after class. Tickets are $35 and the class is at 12:30 PM.
