New York Dining Deals and Events: January 2 - 6

Mash bar at Hu Kitchen
Happy new year! It's a short week for those of you who had off for the holidays, but plenty of you are putting your resolutions aside and hitting the town. Here's a few suggestions to get your 2013 started off right:

Wednesday, January 2

Ok, so maybe you're not quite ready to hit happy hour just yet. Drink something a little healthier, like a cleanse from Organic Avenue. There are numerous shops around town or you can get their signature juices online. After a few days of this you'll totally be ready for weekend boozing.

Thursday, January 3

Or, health nuts can go check out the mash bar at Hu Kitchen, the paleo-themed fast-casual joint near Union Square. The snack station features healthy options like granola, vanilla cashew cream and whipped coconut cream. Maybe you'll give up that ice cream addiction this year after all.

Friday, January 4

Diet-schmiet. Today is national spaghetti day. Stop by Sarabeth's TriBeCa and gobble up some spaghetti with jumbo lump crab meat. You can start cutting the calories tomorrow (212-966-0421).

Saturday, January 5

Stop by Upper West Side restaurant Andanada 141, which is launching a brunch menu today from 11 AM to 3 PM. The dishes served will have a Spanish twist, think huevos rotos with ham, chorizo, peppers and ratatouille (646-692-8762).

Sunday, January 6

There's still time to see the Lunch Hour NYC exhibit at the New York Public Library. It traces a century of city lunches. The exhibit runs through February 17 and is open today from 1 to 5 PM.
