Florida-based chain BurgerFi is gearing up to debut in the Big Apple next week on the Upper East Side. The fast-casual joint bases its patty on the roadside stands of the '50s and '60s, but they pack in all natural ingredients and promise that their burgers are "farm to tray" (wokka wokka). The buns are charred with their brand's name and other items like Kobe beef hot dogs and quinoa burgers will also be available.
This is the first of two NYC locations planned, and the planned opening date is sometime in early February. Nationwide, there will be 16 outposts flipping burgers by the end of February, and the plan is to have 60 across the country by the end of the year. You can get more info about the concept here, and stop by 1571 Second Avenue at 82nd Street once those grills get fired up.
