Lenox Lounge Will Live On At New Location

When restaurateur Richie Notar took over the Harlem space that houses the legendary Lenox Lounge, industry watchers wondered why he didn't follow the trend of other historic revamps and keep the name (see Bill's, Beatrice Inn). Former Lenox owner Alvin Reed holds the rights to the famous moniker, and yesterday it was reported that he intends to open a new location of the jazz club down the street from the original. It will take over a space that formerly housed a hair salon, and although it won't be as large as the former digs, it will still have the Art Deco design and famous neon lights. Notar's jazz club is on track to open at the original location in March, and the Lenox reboot should follow in the summer. [via Eater]
