Jimmy Vets Will Open Rogue & Canon on January 21

The former XR space is about to get swankified

Johnny Swet and Larry Poston are familiar faces in the NYC nightlife world - the duo opened popular hotel bar Jimmy together, and individually they've managed establishments as varied as Bowery Bar and The Waverly Inn. For their next act, they are coming down from the penthouse and opening up a new cocktail lounge and restaurant dubbed Rogue & Canon in the West Village.

The haunt is taking over the space that formerly housed divey XR Bar - no one will weeping into their drinks that the random spot is being replaced by a swankier joint that will serve modern American small plates and cocktails by Swet (who is the maestro behind the none-too-shabby drinks at Jimmy). The joint will open on January 21 (128 West Houston St.).
