For those of you following the
Healthy S.F. surcharge scandal, over the weekend, the San Francisco Chronicle published the
list of restaurants that have been identified by the Office of Labor Standards Enforcement for collecting surcharge fees that exceeded what they actually spent employee healthcare. As to be expected, both sides of the table have
differing accounts of the situation and how it should be resolved with the Golden Gate Restaurant Association claiming the case has been “blown out of proportion” while Assemblyman Tom Ammiano, who was the original architect of the Healthy S.F. law when he was a supervisor, characterizing it as “larceny.” So for those of you who wanted us to name names,
here you go. There are some pretty big-name folks in there.
