| Foie gras flan with chocolate sorbet, previously available at Chez Papa Resto |
By Meesha Halm
Like foie gras itself, the sultry-looking
Chez Papa Resto will disappear from the San Francisco dining scene after this week. The four-year old SoMa boite, once a pillar of the Mint Plaza dining complex,
announced that it was unable to renegotiate a new lease and will be closing its doors at the end of dinner service this Sunday night (January 12). After tonight, the kitchen will only be offering its nightly four-course chef’s tasting menu ($65 per person) with the option of an optional Sauternes cocktail ($30 additional) that comes with a "complimentary" duo of foie gras (torchon and seared) for its swan song week of service. For reservations, call 415-546-4134.
