First Look: Pho 66, A New Slurp Shop in Hell's Kitchen

It's pho-time for one new restaurant in Hell's Kitchen, as noodle shop Pho 66 is set to open this weekend on Ninth Avenue (a development that comes as welcome news to the folks stuck in the endless line at Totto Ramen). The chef/owner Greg Hugunin has worked in some serious joints (Bouley, Craft) and he likely got some hands-on noodle experience during his stint at Jean-Georges' now-closed Vong. Of course the signature dish is the Vietnamese classic, so expect brothy bowls with ingredients like rare- and well-done beef or chicken thigh and sous-vide poached breast.

There are also a few lettuce wraps to start things off with and a smaller selection of Thai dishes (because what would any restaurant on this pad-Thai soaked stretch of Ninth Avenue be without the dish?). There's beer and wine to complement the soup, and a cocktail selection that includes drinks like a Thai Bloody Mary that's spiked with fish sauce, chilies and pickles. Expect an opening this weekend (673 Ninth Ave.; 212-315-9797).
