Clover Juice Cold-Presses Today on La Brea

Like fashion, food fads are cyclical. We had the resurgence of frozen yogurt in the early 2000s, which has subsequently waned (except for Yogurtland...how is there always a line?). Right now juicing is on the rise, with new shops popping up all over town offering cold-pressed beet blends and wheat grass shots, sort of like they did in the 70s. But today's juiceries are sleek and modern, more Anne Hathaway than Annie Hall. Now we can add Clover Juice to the mix of newcomers dotting the liquid landscape, which brings more than veg-fruit blends to La Brea Avenue starting today.

But instead of just juices - things like The Clover (kale, cucumber, celery, spinach, pear, cilantro, mint, lime), the Go Big (beets, kale, carrot, apple, watercress, lemon, ginger) and special seasonal offerings - there's also Stumptown coffee, which is taking LA by storm, kombucha on tap, salads from Flore Vegan, sandwiches from The Churchill's Bruce Kalman, and special pastries created by Charm City Cakes' Lauren Lobley. So it's really cafe-meets-juicery. Clover, which also offers cleanses and the like, is now open daily from 7 AM-9 PM on weekdays and 9 AM-7PM on weekends.
