You may have had your fill of latkes during the recent holiday season, but if you're anything like us, you could always chow down a few more. Coming up on January 27, the New Center for Arts and Culture will be hosting the fourth annual "Beyond Bubbie's Kitchen" where local chefs like Josh Ziskin (
La Morra), Jim Solomon (
The Fireplace), Katie Kimble (
Area Four) and more will be hosting demonstrations on how to prepare traditional Jewish food with modern twists. Guests will be able to sample the creations and walk home with a cookbook filled with recipes from that evening. We can't guarantee that your Bubbie will approve of the dishes, but we have a feeling she'd be happy that you're at least trying to cook (5-8 PM; Back Bay Events Center; $36; buy tickets

Sadly there are no vegetarian options. I really wanted to attend but I don's want to pay $36 just for dessert. Plus they'll be serving foie gras which is a dish that relies on animal torture.
